Four day tour of Scotland

Welcome to Scotland. Your driver/guide will be at Glasgow to pick you up. Station and time TBC. From Glasgow we journey directly north to the Bonnir Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond and the village of Balmaha. Following our visit here we turn south and make for Stirling. Stirling Castle was the very epicentre of Scotlands struggle for freedom during the Wars of Scottish Independence, otherwise known as the Braveheart story.  Following a photo stop at the National Wallace Monument we will drive to the Iconic Kelpies, the larges equestrian statue in the world. From here we make for Edinburgh. Your driver will give you a short familiarisation tour before delivering you safely to your accommodation.

We pick you up at your lodgings at 0830

Today we make for the magical Isle of Skye. We first retrace some of our journey from day 1 up to Stirling. We will first make for Doune Castle, constructed in the 13th century the castle is famous today for the many TV shows and Movies which have been filmed here, most recently, Outlander. From Doune we next reach the town of Callander which sits directly at the Highland fault line. Onward to Glencoe. We will take several photo stops as we make our way through this magnificent glen (valley). Fort William is our next port of call on our way to Glenfinnan. It was here that the Jacobite rising of 1745 began but today this area is more famous as the location of the Glenfinnan Viaduct (better known as the Harry Potter Bridge). Next we arrive at Mallaig. Here we board the ferry to go Over the Sea to Skye, the crossing is a short 40 minutes or so' Your choice of accommodation will dictate the final leg of todays journey.

Overnight CULLIN HILLS HOTEL

Today we explore part of the Isle of Skye. We first make for the Trotternish Peninsula. It is here that we will find many of the attractions and landmarks this island is famous for such as, The Kilt Rock, the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing and Fairy Glen we will of course leave some time to explore the islands capital, Portree. From Portree we journey south down the island, at Sligachan we will view the Black and Red Cullin Mountains before continuing south to depart the island via the Skye Bridge. Eilean Donan Castle is our next stop, it is easy to see why this is Scotland's most photographed castle. Onward to Loch Ness. We will take several photo stops before we call in at Urquhart Castle, once one of the most important fortifications in the country. Finally, the capital of the Highlands, Inverness.

We drop you off at the Station hotel for your evening meal before boarding the Caledonian Sleeper.
